Own Art is an Arts Council England initiative operated by ArtCo Trading Ltd in partnership with Creative Scotland and Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

The aims of the scheme are:

• To enable more people to live with the art they love
• To promote the presentation and sale of high quality works of art through a network of visual arts venues and galleries across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland;
• To support contemporary artists by encouraging increased sales of work across a breadth of practice

Own Art was launched in England in 2004 and to date has been used by over 22,000 people for the purchase of contemporary art and craft valued in excess of £17.5m.

The Own Art scheme was the subject of a BBC documentary first broadcast in December 2009 as part of the Imagine.. series.
