Group exhibition Bright Land will focus on the artist’s relationship to landscape, environment and the deep folds of imagination.
The displayed works demonstrate that landscape painting is not simply the direct representation of a landscape. It is something independent of the landscape it depicts; being constructed of echoes of representation processed through subjective experience. In this, landscape painting kindles an experience of its own, encouraging the viewer to explore the painting’s terrain as they would the natural landscape itself.
We will be showing work from a selection of our gallery artists alongside recent graduates and newly represented artists Henry Jabour, Clare Haward and ceramicist Sara Ben Yosef.
