Since being founded in 2010 by Alison Kelly & Chris Brooks, Atelier Rose & Gray has championed the work of a wide range of leading, mainly British, artists including Royal Academicians, Turner Prize Winners and Nominees, but also highlighting other influential names in the British art world.Exhibitions at the gallery space in Cheshire, have brought some of the most influential names in modern and contemporary British art to a northern, Manchester-based audience. As a result of the continuous and dynamic programme of exhibitions – including paintings and works on paper – clients to our gallery have invaluable opportunities to view significant works of art in the flesh, here in Manchester, that would usually only be seen in London or internationally, or indeed in public galleries in the UK and abroad.
Future exhibitions will continue to highlight the evolving practice of established artists, enabling our northern clientele to continue to engage with museum-quality, modern and contemporary art, here on their doorstep in Manchester. In this sense we support the notion of a ‘Northern Powerhouse’ whereby forward-thinking creative industries in Manchester are clearly at the forefront in promoting cutting-edge creative talent from across the UK. At the same time, we remain dedicated to our founding principle – to enable art lovers (and would-be art lovers) of the north the same opportunity as art lovers of the South to engage, in person, with some of the most influential modern and contemporary art in the UK – without the need to board a train to London!
In August 2016 we relocated the gallery to Dunham Massey in Cheshire. To provide a more personalised service, clients are welcome to visit us on a ‘By appointment’ basis.
