Jonathan Hood Feature Exhibition
Jonathan Hood was born in 1957 and studied Drawing and Painting at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee 1976-79 and at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris 79-80.
He became a full time painter in 1986, at the time mostly working in watercolour and collage. Jonathan uses dramatic blocks of colour to create depth and texture within his works. His clever compositions create narratives through the interaction between figures, and the addition of carefully selected props to be interpreted by the viewer.
It is a testament to his artistic skill that he can convey strong emotion with only the simplest of brushstrokes to represent facial features. He has been exhibiting regularly in galleries around the UK, and also in Holland, France and Italy. He has work in many private collections around the world.
This show will feature new paintings together with a small retrospective of his work.
