Claire Wiltsher Solo Show; ‘Orchestrating Light’

by Dart Gallery | Dartmouth
Date of event: 09/04/22 - 07/05/22
Artist: Claire Wiltsher

Claire’s award-winning work draws inspiration from the likes of Turner and
Pollock. Her elegant, impressionist paintings have a dream-like quality.
Her work explores the differing viewpoints of sea and land. Each painting
responds to light, height and energy while at the same time rejecting
the need for total recognition. Claire invites you as viewer to project your
own imagination onto the canvas. It is for this reason that her work is so
engaging and personal. Claire’s paintings make a sophisticated
statement on any wall. This collection features over 30 wonderful new
paintings.

“For this exhibition of new water-based oil and mixed media paintings,
I’ve sought to capture the highs and lows of weather; orchestrated by
light. Sea, land and forest are in focus from Devon to Cornwall and North
Wales to the Lytham Estuary in Lancashire. My local area of the New
Forest and coastal paths of Lymington and Pennington Marshes also
make an appearance. I’ve been working on this collection in my studio
over the past year”
