First solo exhibition by Orcadian painter Laura Drever at The Scottish Gallery
Glimro marks the first solo exhibition by Orcadian painter Laura Drever with The Scottish Gallery. Based in Kirkwall, Drever was born in Orkney and studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 2003 with First Class Honours. Her work is rooted in sustained walking and close observation of the landscape, with paintings developed through memory rather than direct representation.
This exhibition is structured around the four seasons, reflecting the cyclical rhythms of Orkney’s northern environment. Light, weather and movement are recalled and reworked through layered paint, distilling atmosphere onto canvas.
