The Bluecoat Display Centre is a haven for enthusiasts of everything exquisite in the field of contemporary craft and design. Situated in the heart of Liverpool.
Our friendly and knowledgeable team includes the Director; Samantha Rhodes, Assistant Directors; Kate Moult and Frances Gill-Smith and Gallery Assistant; Claire Smith, offer specialist help and advice to anyone wishing to purchase, commission or collect contemporary crafts.
The Bluecoat Display Centre is a nationally and internationally recognised contemporary craft and design gallery that has been established since 1959. We sell, exhibit and promote over 350 selected contemporary craftspeople each year working in a broad variety of media.
Bluecoat Display Centre is a registered charity and has been running a series of outreach workshops with local mental health groups and artist residencies with local hospitals. Talented local artists have been teaching community group members and hospital patients and staff different craft techniques, giving them both unique and illuminating experiences. We have worked with health and social care partners The Life Rooms and local hospitals including Royal Liverpool University & Broadgreen hospitals (RLH), The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust and Alder Hey Childrens Hospital.
