MBE Announcement

Huge congratulations to our lovely Chair of Trustees Ross Williams, who has just been awarded an MBE in the King’s Honours List for services to heritage and to culture in Cornwall!

Ross grew up in Redruth and has worked tirelessly to encourage and support Cornwall’s creative industries for over thirty years, developing the dynamic, multi-purpose arts hub at Krowji.  He is also chair of the Borlase Smart John Wells Trust that owns the historic Porthmeor Studios in St Ives and Trewarveneth studios in Newlyn.  Ross retired at the end of 2020 after 30 years as chief executive of Creative Kernow and Krowji but retains links with a large network of creative sector organisations across Cornwall.  He has been a Board member of Penwith Galleries Ltd since 2012 and Chair of Trustees since 2020, and is always a calm, hugely knowledgeable presence in amongst the gallery madness!
