Our fun art debate at Mall Galleries last week
Last week, Creative United Chief Executive Mary-Alice Stack hosted a panel for a lively debate at Mall Galleries. The topic at hand was how contemporary artists choose to interpret the world around them, and the suitability of the descriptor ‘figurative art’. The rest of the panel included Lynn Painter-Stainers art prize winner Ruth Stage; current exhibitor Marguerite Horner; and Lewis McNaught, Director of Mall Galleries.
In addition to the panel discussion, the evening included live artists situated around every corner of the venue, capturing live models, the audience and panel.
The event included access to The Columbia Threadneedle Prize exhibition, supplies for attendees to sketch with, and a glass of wine or two.
We were thrilled by the turnout at the event and to have the opportunity to share our views and experiences on contemporary art. We were equally impressed by the audience sketches!
