Preparing for Hay Festival

by Bluestone Gallery | Hereford
Date of event: 22/05/25 - 30/06/25

Hay on Wye is famous as being the original and best Book Town. But its other claim to fame is being the home of the now global Hay Festival. While Hay is busy for much of the year, during the Festival it is flooded with visitors – so we prepare as best we can!

We do not have fixed run individual exhibitions in Bluestone, we like to feel what we present is a fluid and flexible ongoing exhibition with work coming and going throughout the year. For the Festival this year we are excited to have some amazing work on our two floors. A few highlights are the ceramic sculptures of David Cooke, the ceramics of Phil Evans and Kath Kingdon, the miniature sculptures of Robert Statham, and the jewellery of Mark Veevers and his partner Adele Taylor. On the walls we are delighted to have Welsh landscapes by David Williams and the Wabi-Sabi paintings of Alex Brown. There is so much more to mention, but I won’t bore you with a long list. If you can get over to Hay before the end of the month you will experience the mighty buzz of the Festival and discover a town full of creative independents.
